QR code registration completed for over 8,700 street food vendors in Ahmedabad

In a significant step towards enhancing food safety and public hygiene, the Ahmedabad civic authorities have successfully completed QR code-based registration of more than 8,700 street food vendors across the city.

The initiative allows for effective real-time monitoring of vendor details, including business locations and hygiene standards. Citizens can simply scan the QR code displayed at any registered stall to access comprehensive information about the vendor and submit feedback and ratings on cleanliness and overall hygiene.

 This transparent system aims to empower consumers and encourage vendors to maintain high standards of food safety.Officials have urged all unregistered street food vendors to complete the registration process immediately. 

Vendors can register by scanning the official QR code and must prominently display the issued QR code at their place of business for easy verification.The drive is expected to strengthen Ahmedabad’s street food ecosystem, making it cleaner, safer, and more reliable. 

Authorities believe active citizen participation through feedback will play a crucial role in sustaining quality and hygiene standards.This innovative digital initiative reflects the city’s commitment to modernising urban governance and prioritising public health in one of India’s major food cultures.
