PTC admission scam in Gujarat Seats sold for rs 2 lakh alleges Yuvrajsinh Jadeja
Student leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja alleges PTC scam

A major scam has surfaced in Gujarat involving PTC (Primary Teachers’ Certificate) admissions, where seats were allegedly being sold to students for as much as ₹2 lakh.

As per allegations by student leader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja, several candidates submitted their original documents for admission, yet their admissions were later cancelled.

According to the video provided by Yuvrajsinh, the college trustees were also called and instructed to grant admissions. The trustees informed the students that admissions under the management quota would be provided, which is why they demanded ₹2 lakh. The trustees openly stated that ₹1 lakh of this amount would reach high-level officers in the Education Department.

In one such case, a trustee of Daskroi-based Kushagra Lataba Stri Mandir openly demanded money for admission. Initially, a student was granted admission on the grounds of having studied in Uttar Buniyadi school, but that admission was later cancelled.

When approached, the institution claimed that such cancellation was due to “rules from the Education Department”. Affected students and their families were shown fee receipts in the presence of an education department official, who told them that the admission would only be granted after internal discussions in a meeting.

The video also reveals claims that de-recognised colleges were able to regain recognition by paying bribes, with Lokmanya College Principal Gaurang Parmar allegedly acting as a middleman for the Education Department.

It was alleged that Parmar entered into a 50% partnership MoU with a de-recognised college and managed to restore its recognition overnight. Students across all PTC colleges have now demanded an impartial investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the offline admission process for PTC has already started. Colleges admitted students based on eligibility and government rules, collected fees, and documents.

Subsequently, many parents received notifications on social media stating that the admissions had been cancelled. Both the colleges and the department clarified that students from Uttar Buniyadi schools would no longer be eligible for PTC admission. In fact, in institutions with an intake of 100 seats, only a single seat was being allocated. As a result, all admissions of students in those schools into PTC were revoked.

Uttar Buniyadi schools are secondary schools where, in addition to general academic subjects, systematic education in agriculture is also provided. These schools have their own cultivable land. Moreover, arrangements are made in these schools for students to stay and dine.
