As Gujarat prepares to host the Olympics in the future, the state government is set to introduce a Sports Promotion Bill aimed at encouraging local athletes and helping them excel at the national and international levels. The Sports Promotion Bill 2025 is expected to be presented during the ongoing assembly session.

Athletes who have secured first, second, or third place at the national or international level will receive free accommodation, meals, and training facilities in government hostels. Additionally, scholarships ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 will be granted to support emerging talent.

A scholarship of ₹5,000 will be awarded to athletes securing top positions in a given year.

Athletes will also be eligible for interest-free loans, repayable in 10 instalments.

An encouragement grant of ₹10,000 will be sanctioned for athletes selected for any international sports trials or training.

A special incentive of ₹25,000 will be awarded to athletes who have represented India in international competitions or have been selected.

Furthermore, renowned and emerging athletes will be provided with a 200-square-metre residential plot free of cost at their place of residence.
