Private bus overturns on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway, two dead
Two passengers were killed when a private bus overturned near the Dakor exit in Nadiad on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway late in the evening on Feb 22.
More than 20 people were injured in the incident, who were later shifted to Nadiad Civil Hospital via 108 EMRI services.
The Pune-bound private luxury vehicle of private transport ‘Kabra Travels’ began its journey from Ahmedabad, and collided with a truck trying to overtake at around 7 p.m.
The bus went sideways after the collision and turned over into a roadside ditch. Upon hearing the passengers scream, the people came rushing to help.
While two deaths were reported so far, eyewitnesses expressed the possibility of the death toll increasing, considering the severity of the accident.
Just a day before, a massive fire broke out on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Highway in Valsad on Feb 21.
On the Valsad stretch of NH 48 near Vaghaldhara, a chemical tanker flipped, which led to the fire, further setting three cars ablaze.
The Valsad municipality fire brigade rushed to the spot after getting information about the accident.
