Previous quarrel leads to violent assault in Isanpur, 4 booked for attack with iron pipes

A 40-year-old construction worker was allegedly assaulted with iron pipes and sticks by four men in Ahmedabad’s Isanpur area late on Friday night, with police stating that the attack appears to have stemmed from an old dispute between the victim and one of the accused.
According to Isanpur Police, the incident took place at around 11 pm on June 12 in Sahiya Colony, Rasulabad, Shah Alam. The complainant, Mohammad Hussain Qamar Mohammad Pathan, a resident of the locality, alleged that he was sitting outside his house when four men approached him and launched an attack.
Police said the primary accused, identified as Jafarbhai Nurbhai Ghoghari, allegedly harboured a grudge against the complainant over an altercation that had taken place nearly eight months earlier. Acting on that enmity, Ghoghari, accompanied by three others identified as Abbas, Shabbir, and an unidentified man, allegedly confronted the complainant.
Ghoghari was carrying an iron pipe and allegedly struck the victim on the neck and head multiple times, causing him to fall to the ground. The other accused are alleged to have joined in the assault, with one of them using sticks found nearby while the others allegedly attacked him with iron pipes.
Hearing the victim’s cries for help, locals rushed to the spot and intervened, preventing further assault. The injured man sustained wounds to his head and other parts of his body.
An ambulance was subsequently called, and the victim was taken to Care and Cure Hospital, where he remains under treatment.
Isanpur Police have registered a case against Jafarbhai Ghoghari, Abbas, Shabbir, and an unidentified accomplice on charges relating to assault and causing injuries. Investigators are working to establish the identity of the fourth accused and ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
