A minor but unusual dispute in the Karanj market area in Ahmedabad sparked curiosity within police circles after a woman approached the police control room, alleging that a shopkeeper had lost the lid of her pressure cooker and was refusing to resolve the issue.

According to police, the woman had handed over her old pressure cooker to a shopkeeper in the Karanj area for repairs. During the process, the lid of the cooker was reportedly misplaced, leading to an argument between the customer and the shopkeeper. The woman alleged that the shopkeeper was threatening her and declined to return the cooker, prompting her to call the police.

Following the complaint, a nearby police response team was dispatched to the location. Under the standard procedure, complaints received at the control room are forwarded to the nearest PCR units, which then attend the matter and submit a resolution report.

Police said the issue was resolved on the spot after mediation, with the complainant being provided a new pressure cooker. Both parties agreed to the settlement, bringing the dispute to an end.

Sources indicated that the disagreement arose over payment, with the woman seeking a new cooker free of cost, while the shopkeeper wanted to deduct the cost of the lost lid and charge the remaining amount. Police intervention helped bridge the gap between the two sides.

A brief message confirming the resolution was later circulated in police groups, where the incident drew light-hearted reactions and discussion due to its unusual nature.
