Post office, passport centres in Surat and Bhavnagar receive bomb threat, security amped up

Security forces have been on high alert after a bomb threat was received by passport and post offices in Surat-Bhavangar today. Police and bomb squad teams have been put into action after threat mail to blow up government offices was received.
Intensive search operation at passport office in Surat
According to the information received, the passport office in the Piplod area of Surat received an email threat to blow up the office, after that the entire area was turned into a police camp. Umra police and dog squad teams immediately reached the spot and searched the entire premises.
With the alert, a commotion ensued among the applicants present at the passport office for work. However, the police have brought the situation under control and are continuing the investigation.
Bhavnagar post office also received bomb threat
After Surat, similar threats were sent in Bhavnagar after the divisional head of Bhavnagar Head Post Office received a threatening e-mail. Upon receiving the information, the local police reached the spot and conducted a search.
Apart from Surat and Bhavangar, passport and post offices of Amreli, Mehsana, Surat, Valsad, Bhavanagar, Junagadh, Surendranagar, and Palanpur also received a similar type of email bomb threat. Following this, security forces are on high alert after various cities of Gujarat received bomb threats.
The cyber crime team has been activated to find out if there is any specific conspiracy behind these threats received in various cities at the same time. Vigilance has been increased in important government offices and crowded areas across the state.
