Police nab youth drinking beer on Ahmedabad airport road after reel goes viral

Amid growing concerns over violations of Gujarat’s liquor prohibition laws, another incident has surfaced from Ahmedabad’s airport road. A young man and woman were allegedly seen consuming beer in public, later uploading a video of the act on social media. The video quickly went viral, prompting action from the Sardarnagar police, as per reports.

An Instagram reel uploaded on May 23 reportedly caught the attention of authorities. In the video, the youth was seen openly drinking alcohol near airport road while accompanied by a young woman. The reel, captioned “Public jams broke out in Ahmedabad, a young man gulped beer on airport road,” sparked outrage and drew swift police response.

During the investigation, police identified the accused as Nanak alias Nanu Kanaiyalal Seva, a resident of Kubernagar. Officials also discovered that similar videos of the accused allegedly consuming alcohol in an office located in the G Ward area had surfaced earlier.

The Sardarnagar police have registered a case against Nanak alias Nanu under the Prohibition Act and arrested him.

Further investigation is under way to determine the involvement of the woman and other individuals seen in the viral video.
