Police constable held for drunk driving after crash near Vishala ice factory

A police constable attached to Vatva police station was arrested for alleged drunk driving after a car accident near Vishala ice factory on Wednesday, sparking a commotion among local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, Constable Prakash Rabari, who was behind the wheel of the car involved in the crash, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Locals alleged that he was visibly intoxicated, and claimed they found an alcohol bottle inside the vehicle.
The discovery led to heated arguments at the spot, with residents demanding immediate action against the driver.
Personnel from the M Division Traffic Police soon reached the scene, detained Rabari and registered a case of drunk driving. He was taken into custody for medical examination and further questioning.
Officials confirmed that a formal complaint has been lodged and that the M Division Traffic Police have launched an inquiry to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and to verify the allegations of alcohol consumption.
Senior officers said appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated against the constable if the charges are proven.
