Police braces for Ganpati Visarjan in the city
Around 100 lakes, ponds, and other water bodies in the city will be used for Ganpati Visarjan

The ten-day long Ganpati festival culminates today on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi. Around 100 lakes, ponds, and other water bodies in the city will be used as immersion for Ganpati Visarjan.
To ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain law and order for the huge gatherings and processions across the city, Ahmedabad police braced themselves.
Drones deployed
With the help of drones, the Ahmedabad police execute aerial surveillance over the city. More than 30 drones were set up for the city.
Moreover, the fire brigade and police are on standby at different lakes to avert any mishap.
Traffic police and state reserve police (SRP) personnel are present at different locations in the city to maintain traffic and processions.
Many citizens will carry out Visarjan in their societies and homes by immersing the eco-friendly Ganpati idols in tubs and buckets.
As per the advisory issued by police commissioner G S Malik, after 1.00 p.m., movements of only Ganesh Visarjan processions’ vehicles will be allowed in some restricted areas. For other vehicles, alternate routes are earmarked as mentioned in the advisory.
