PM Modi to inaugurate Daman Airport on June 5
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat's Surat and the Union Territory of Daman on June 5 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several major development projects. The total value of the projects in Surat is around ₹18,000 crore.
During his visit to Daman, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a new civilian airport and a government hospital.
Surat Collector Tejas Parmar reportedly said PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in Surat at around 2.45 pm. His first stop will be an industrial facility in the Hazira area, one of Gujarat's major industrial hubs. Following his programme in Surat, PM Modi will travel to Daman. There, he will officially inaugurate the newly constructed civilian airport terminal. Built at a cost of nearly ₹97 crore, the airport is located adjacent to the existing Indian Coast Guard airstrip as per reports. The new facility is expected to improve air connectivity between Daman and other parts of the country, making travel easier for residents, tourists, and businesses.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Marwad Government Hospital, located near the airport. Later in the day, PM Modi will address a public gathering at the Swami Vivekananda Ground in Daman. During the event, he will virtually inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several additional development projects in the Union Territory.
