PM Modi to hoist sacred flag atop Ram Mandir on November 25, Gujarati astrologer predicts auspicious time

An auspicious flag-hoisting ceremony is scheduled for the main spire of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on November 25. A 22-year-old astrologer from Ahmedabad, in Gujarat, Vishwa Vora, has determined the precise 12-minute ‘Abhijit Muhurat’ for the ritual.
This ceremonial milestone follows the installation of Lord Rama’s idol on January 22, 2024 and the subsequent consecration performed on the temple’s second level in June. With construction now fully complete, raising the flag on the summit marks the next significant ritual in the temple’s journey.
The saffron flag will feature the sacred symbol ‘ॐ’ along with other scriptural emblems. Made from parachute fabric, the flag is designed to flutter freely in all directions, its tricolour-toned design symbolising valour and divine strength.
Top dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, are expected to attend the three-day series of rituals, from November 23 to 25, leading up to the main flag-hoisting ceremony.
Astrologer Vora stated that the chosen date, ‘Magshar Sud Pancham’ (Tuesday, Amrit Yog) in the Hindu calendar, offers the most favourable planetary alignment. The muhurat extends from 11.31 am to 12.13 pm, with a particularly auspicious 12-minute “sookshma muhurat” within that duration.
He further noted that a committee formed by the central government in 2023 finalised this timing months in advance, taking into account spiritual tradition and architectural principles.
Addressing the timing, Vora explained that according to temple architecture principles (Shilpa Shastra), the flag on the highest point of the temple signifies completion and the arrival of the most auspicious moment. Although the consecration took place earlier, the flag-hoisting is now being performed as all required conditions, including temple completion and the prescribed muhurat, are fulfilled.
