PM to the rescue? Modi likely to visit Rajkot on Apr 22

Updated: Apr 11th, 2024

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Parshottam Rupala across Gujarat, speculations are rife about prime minister Narendra Modi's arrival in the politically charged state soon.

According to party sources, PM Modi will visit Gujarat on Apr 19, which is the last day to fill out the candidature form in Gujarat.

He is likely to hold a public meeting in Rajkot on Apr 22, the last day to fill out the nomination form. According to reports, he is set to hold a total of six public meetings covering zones including Saurashtra-Kutch, north Gujarat, central Gujarat, and south Gujarat during his visit.

Sources say that Modi will start campaigning on Apr 22 by holding public meetings and roadshows in Gujarat.

However, the official programme schedule is yet to be released.

It’s been almost half a month since Rupala’s remark on the Kshatriya community, which has further led to peak chaos in Gujarat. Despite apologies, meetings, and requests from BJP leaders, the flare in the state refuses to placate.

The party anticipates that the situation will be brought under control upon Modi's return to his home state and the fortress of the BJP.

PM Modi’s strong ties to Gujarat remain evident as he is a registered voter in the state. Like every time, he will visit the Ranip polling station in Ahmedabad to cast his vote in the upcoming elections.
