PM Modi holds delegation-level talks with German Chancellor Merz at Gandhinagar's Mahatma Mandir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held delegation-level talks at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar on Monday, focusing on enhancing cooperation across various sectors.

Chancellor Merz arrived in India early on Monday on a visit aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations between India and Germany.

The two leaders are expected to have reviewed the progress made in the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, which has recently completed 25 years.

International Kite festival begins

PM Modi and German Chancellor Merz arrives at the Riverfront, where the International Kite Festival has now officially begun.

Participants from 50 countries are taking part in the festival, with 135 international kite flyers in attendance. In addition, 871 kite enthusiasts from 13 Indian states and 16 districts of Gujarat have also reached the venue.

Visit to Sabarmati Ashram: At 9.30 am, he will visit Sabarmati Ashram.

International Kite Festival: At 10 am, he will participate in the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront.

Important diplomatic meeting in Gandhinagar

After completing the Ahmedabad programmes, the Prime Minister will depart for Gandhinagar. At 11.15 am, he will hold an important bilateral meeting with the German Federal Chancellor at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre. This meeting is being considered highly significant for India–Germany relations.
