Pet dog mauls child in New Maninagar, Ramol police register case against owner

A pet dog allegedly attacked and injured a child in the Sharanam Elegance residential society in New Maninagar, Ahmedabad on Wednesday. A case has been registered with the Ramol police in this regard. 

The incident, which was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the society premises, took place when the child was playing near the building. The dog, which was being walked by its owner, suddenly lunged at the child and bit him, leaving him injured.

Following the incident, the child’s family approached the Ramol police and lodged a formal complaint against the dog’s owner for negligence. The police have taken note of the CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

“A complaint has been registered against the owner of the pet dog for failing to ensure safety and control over the animal. Further action will be taken based on medical reports and CCTV evidence,” said an officer from Ramol police station.

The child, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said the incident has raised concerns among residents about pet safety and responsibility in residential societies.
