A team from the Aslali Fire Station on Tuesday successfully rescued a peacock, India’s national bird, after it fell into a well near Piplaj village.

Officials said the well, located in an agricultural field, was about 60 feet deep. Locals spotted the bird trapped inside and immediately alerted the fire brigade. Responding to the call, the Aslali fire team rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation using ropes and specialised equipment.

After nearly half-an-hour of effort, the peacock was safely brought out of the well. Officials said the bird did not suffer any major injuries and was later released into its natural habitat.
