PCB seizes liquor worth ₹8.67 lakh in raid in Ahmedabad, listed bootlegger among wanted accused
2,835 bottles and beer cans of IMFL recovered during coordinated operation in Sardarnagar police limits; search launched for two absconding suspects

The Prevention of Crime Branch (PCB) of the Ahmedabad City Police seized a large consignment of illegally stored Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth ₹8.67 lakh during a raid at the Valmiki Awas housing complex in Noble Nagar under the Sardarnagar police station limits on Wednesday.
Acting on specific intelligence, PCB officers conducted simultaneous searches at multiple locations within the residential complex. During the operation, police recovered 2,835 sealed bottles and beer cans of IMFL with an estimated market value of ₹8.67 lakh.
According to the police, the liquor was found concealed at several locations, including an open passage adjacent to the staircase of Block No. 14, as well as premises of the Valmiki Awas housing complex.
A prohibition case has been registered at the Sardarnagar Police Station, and legal proceedings have been initiated against two absconding accused, including listed bootlegger Shravan alias Balaji alias Baliyo Thakor, son of Joraji alias Jivrajbhai Thakor, a resident of Valmiki Awas, Noblenagar, who also has links to Palanpur in Banaskantha district.
The second wanted accused has been identified as Dipu Sindhi, also a resident of the Valmiki Awas housing complex in Noble Nagar.
Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest both accused. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the source of the seized liquor, identify other persons involved in the illegal supply network and determine whether the stock was intended for distribution in the city.
