Parts of Gujarat receives rainfall, heat prevails in Ahmedabad

While south Gujarat witnessed fresh rainfall on June 8, Ahmedabad awaits with no forecast of rain for at least a week.
On June 8, parts of Saurashtra saw a change in the weather. Amreli, Dhari, Rajkot, Jamkandorana and rural areas received rain along with strong winds.
There was a sudden change in the weather in Chhotaudepur in the wee hours of the morning of June 8. Surat’s Olpad and Bharuch’s Ankleshwar also received rain.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) rainfall is likely to occur in many parts of south Gujarat, Saurashtra and north Gujarat for the next 5 days.
Today, light to moderate rain/thundershowers along with surface wind 30- 40 kmph are likely in all the districts of South Gujarat region including Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, the Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
Rainfall is likely in Dahod, Panchmahal, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
Meanwhile, scorching weather is likely to prevail in Ahmedabad as on June 8, the city witnessed 42.4°C temperature, 1.5°C more than normal.
However, temperatures in the city are likely to decline till June 13 and again rise from June 14-16, as per a private weather forecast agency.
Rainfall is likely in Ahmedabad after June 20.

Indian weather forecast
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Maharashtra, coastal and northern Karnataka during the next five days while a fresh spell of heat wave conditions is likely to commence over Northwest India from June 9, according to an IMD forecast issued on June 8.
Heatwave conditions are likely to continue over parts of East and East-Central India, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh during the next five days, the IMD said.
The weather bulletin also said that the Southwest monsoon on June 8 advanced into some more parts of the Central Arabian Sea, southern Maharashtra, Telangana, and some parts of southern Chhattisgarh, southern Odisha, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of the Southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of the Central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), and Telangana during the next 2-3 days, the IMD forecast said.
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely over Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep, while isolated light to moderate rainfall is likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry during the next five days.
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim during the next seven days.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from June 8-12, the IMD said.
