Parcel explodes at private travel office in Ahmedabad damages premises

An explosion occurred after a parcel allegedly burst inside a private travel agency office in the Paldi area of Ahmedabad on Wednesday afternoon, causing damage to the premises but leaving no one injured.

The incident took place at a private travel office located in the Paldi locality that had arrived at the office.

Police said that the parcel suddenly exploded while being opened, triggering a loud blast that damaged items inside the office. The incident also created panic in the surrounding area as residents and nearby shopkeepers rushed out after hearing the explosion.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police teams from the Paldi Police Station rushed to the spot and secured the area. Senior police officials later arrived to assess the situation.

Authorities also deployed personnel from the Ahmedabad Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad along with a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory Ahmedabad to examine the site and collect evidence.

Preliminary information suggests that parcel contained some kind of aresol spray bottles, which exploded due to the heat.

As per officials, the explosion was limited to the parcel and resulted in damage to property within the office. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Police officials said they are currently investigating the origin of the parcel and the nature of the material contained in it. Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to trace how the parcel reached the office and identify those responsible.

Officials added that the case is being examined from multiple angles, and further details will emerge once the forensic analysis and investigation are completed.
