Pan masala heist in Ahmedabad: 5 individuals rob goods worth ₹44 Lakh

A theft worth lakhs of rupees has been reported at Tirupati Estate in Aslali, Ahmedabad. Thieves broke the shutter of the pan masala company’s warehouse and stole a large quantity of pan masala stock along with internet equipment. 

Mahavirkumar Jain, who has been working as a manager at the company’s warehouse for the past 11 years, filed a police complaint. On April 5, around 6.15 am, an employee working for a subcontractor informed him over the phone that the warehouse shutter had been broken.

He, along with other staff, rushed to the site. CCTV footage revealed that between 4 am and 4.40 am, four to five unidentified individuals arrived in a Bolero pick-up vehicle, lifted the shutter, entered the warehouse, and carried out the theft.

The thieves fled with stolen goods worth ₹44,92,370 from the warehouse, loading them into the Bolero pick-up. The stolen items included 13 boxes of pan masala (2.2 grams) and 65 boxes of pan masala (4 grams) worth ₹34,81,859, 4 boxes of pan masala (100 grams) worth ₹1,81,944, 6 boxes of Tulsi Zarda (0.25 grams) worth ₹1,28,907, 2 boxes of Tulsi Zarda (0.45 grams) worth ₹51,657, and 6 boxes of Tulsi Royal Khajur worth ₹48,003 making a total of 96 boxes valued at ₹44,47,370.

In addition, internet equipment installed in the office, including a router approximately ₹45,000, was also stolen. Altogether, a complaint has been registered with the police stating that goods worth over ₹44.92 lakh were stolen.
