Owner of three petrol pumps jumps into canal with two daughters near Kalol, all three found dead

An owner of three petrol pumps in Kalol taluka allegedly ended his life along with his two young daughters by jumping into a canal.

According to police, Dhiraj Bhulabhai Rabari, a resident of Borisana village in Kalol, had left home on Friday morning with his daughters Jiya and Jasvi, saying he was taking them to get their Aadhaar cards made. When the trio did not return home till late night, the family lodged a missing person report.

Police launched a search and recovered the bodies of both girls from the canal on Saturday morning . Later in the evening, Dhiraj’s body was also found from the same canal near Sabasapur Sherisa, where his car had earlier been found parked on the bridge.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the area. Despite being financially stable and socially well-settled, the reason behind Dhiraj’s drastic step remains unclear. Police have begun a detailed probe to ascertain the motive behind the tragedy.
