Over 50 candidates from Gujarat’s SPIPA qualify for UPSC Mains

More than 50 candidates from SPIPA have qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Main Examination 2025, according to provisional estimates following the announcement of the results by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Officials from the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) said that this year, 635 candidates trained under SPIPA from various regional centres across the state appeared for the UPSC Preliminary Examination, of which 272 qualified for the Mains.
The UPSC Main Examination was held in August 2025, and the results declared this week show that 49 candidates from SPIPA’s current batch — those receiving stipends — have cleared the Mains. Including past batches, the total number of qualifiers from SPIPA is estimated to be over 50.
Last year, 70 SPIPA candidates had reached the interview stage, and officials expect the number to rise further this year once the full list is verified.
SPIPA has also announced that it will organise mock interviews for all candidates who qualified for the personality test (interview stage), including those who took external coaching, free of cost.
The UPSC interview process for the 2025 Civil Services Examination is scheduled to be held between February and March next year. In the previous 2024 cycle, a total of 26 candidates from Gujarat were selected for the final merit list.
