Over 3.78 lakh passengers travelled home on 8,000+ ST bus trips during Diwali rush

During the Diwali festive week, the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) operated over 8,000 special bus trips across the state, helping more than 3.78 lakh passengers reach their hometowns safely and on time.
To handle the festive rush between October 16 and 20, GSRTC implemented an extensive travel plan across major depots, including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Bhavnagar, and Junagadh. The corporation ensured that buses were deployed on high-demand routes to manage the surge in passengers heading home for Diwali celebrations.
Nadiad depot recorded the highest number of trips, operating 1,851 buses that carried nearly 64,000 passengers. Surat depot followed closely, with around 1,300 trips that transported 68,000 passengers — primarily artisans and workers from Saurashtra and North Gujarat.
