Over 2,000 police personnel to be deployed for T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad

More than 2,000 police personnel will be deployed for security during the final of the ICC T20 World Cup between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera next Sunday, officials said.
The Ahmedabad police have drawn up a comprehensive action plan to maintain law and order during the high-profile match, which is expected to attract a large number of spectators and dignitaries.
The security arrangements will be supervised by the Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP). The deployment will include seven Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), 25 police inspectors, 78 police sub-inspectors and around 1,500 other police personnel.
A special control room will be set up near the stadium to monitor security operations. More than 300 CCTV cameras installed inside and around the stadium will be used for surveillance.
Police said the match is expected to be attended by several VVIPs, including prominent political leaders, industrialists and Bollywood personalities. A senior IPS officer has been assigned specific responsibility for protocol and VVIP security arrangements.
Authorities are also preparing for a crowd of over one lakh spectators at the stadium.
In addition to the police deployment, four teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad and a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will be stationed at the venue as part of the security and emergency response arrangements.
