60 lakh children studying in 459 schools of Ahmedabad Municipal School Board are facing inconvenience due to stuck repairs in the school. 

In the new academic session, about 3,000 students have enrolled in government schools so far, leaving private schools. The necessary repairs needed in municipal schools can be done at the ward level, however, the approval for the same is carried out through different departments of Ahmedabad Municipality, resulting in the delay of minimal repair works in these schools. 

According to sources, more than  100 schools need repairs as they are old buildings,  in different areas of north, south, east, and central zones, compared to the municipal schools located in the north-west and south-west.

As a result, the children and even the non-academic staff are facing great inconvenience.

In the year 2019-20, the-then municipal commissioner appointed zone-wise assistant municipal commissioners and assigned them the responsibility of two or three wards. But even with this arrangement, the repairs have still not been completed in the schools.

8. Conducting pest control in school windows with termites
