Ordered paneer served chicken Vastrapur hotel’s lapse leaves diner shocked
Customer ordered paneer and served chicken at Vastrapur hotel

For those who enjoy dining out, here’s a cautionary tale. A young man in Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur area was left shocked after being served chicken instead of paneer at a city hotel — exposing a serious case of negligence in food handling.

As per the complainant, the incident took place at Hotel Park Residency in Vastrapur. The customer had ordered 'paneer chilli', a popular vegetarian dish, but was allegedly served chicken by mistake. It was only after tasting the food that he realised something was wrong.

Startled by the discovery, the diner confronted the hotel staff, who reportedly admitted that the dish had been mixed up in the kitchen. The incident quickly sparked outrage among patrons and locals, with many questioning the restaurant's hygiene and food segregation practices.

Preliminary findings suggest that Hotel Park Residency prepares both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes in the same kitchen, without maintaining separate cooking spaces — a violation of basic food safety norms. The revelation has raised concerns among vegetarian customers who frequent the establishment.

Officials from the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) are expected to look into the matter. “If the hotel is found to have violated health or food safety standards, appropriate action will be taken,” an AMC official said.

The incident has sparked an online debate about food safety and kitchen practices in city restaurants, with customers demanding stricter inspections and accountability from eateries that charge premium prices but compromise on standards.
