Orange alert in 8 districts, including Bhavnagar and Vadodara, Surat records 13 inches of rain

Heavy rainfall continues to lash Gujarat, with Surat witnessing over 13 inches of rain in just 24 hours, leading to severe waterlogging and disruption to daily life. 

According to reports, five districts in South Gujarat, including Tapi and Kamrej, faced the brunt of the rainfall. Tapi district roads were shut down due to rising water levels, and rivers like Shetrunji and Satladi in Amreli district were approaching flood-like conditions.

Ten reservoirs across the state, including in Amreli, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar, and Kutch, have reached 100% capacity. Authorities have issued high alerts and advised local administration to remain vigilant. Additionally, 29 reservoirs are between 70% and 100% full, prompting warning notifications.

Yellow alerts

June 25: Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Valsad, and more.

June 26–27: Widespread alerts across Kutch, Jamnagar, Morbi, Navsari, Dahod, Narmada, and others.

June 28–29: Heavy rain with thunderstorms expected across most parts of Gujarat.
