Olpad deputy mamlatdar found dead in Surat

The death of Hinisha Patel, a deputy mamlatdar posted in Olpad, has shocked Surat. Patel was found dead at her residence in the Rander area. Police believe she died by suicide. The exact reason behind the incident is still not known.

Hinisha Patel and her husband were both working as deputy mamlatdars in the revenue department. Police are now trying to find out whether she was under personal stress or work-related pressure.

According to information received, Hinisha Patel’s husband, Ketanbhai Bhagubhai Patel, is also a deputy mamlatdar and is currently posted at the Olpad Prant Office. 

Since both husband and wife were holding responsible government positions, the incident has left officials and colleagues shocked. 

Incident Happened Before Leaving for Office

Police said that the couple usually travelled together to Olpad every day for work. On the day of the incident, both of them got ready and came down from their apartment  to leave. However, when Hinisha Patel did not come down, her husband went back upstairs to check on her. When he entered the flat, he reportedly found that she had died by hanging herself.

After receiving information, the Rander police reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. Necessary legal procedures have been started. 

Police officials said that no suicide note has been found so far. The investigation is ongoing to understand whether the step was taken due to personal reasons or pressure related to work.
