Old house collapses in Ahmedabad’s Ghee Kanta area, four feared trapped

A horrific incident was reported from Ahmedabad’s Ghee Kanta area on Wednesday after an old residential building collapsed in the well-known Navtad Ni Pol locality. 

Four people are feared to have been trapped under the debris at the time of the collapse.

According to officials, the incident triggered panic in the densely populated neighbourhood. Police, fire brigade personnel and teams from the Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s Estate Department rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the collapse and launched a rescue operation.

Emergency responders are working to clear the rubble in an effort to locate and rescue those believed to be buried beneath the debris. Visuals from the site showed extensive damage, with the structure reduced to rubble, underscoring the severity of the incident.
