NSUI leaders carry out ‘funeral procession’ of GCAS portal at Gujarat University

In a unique protest staged to highlight issues of Gujarat Common Admission Portal (GCAS) portal, the leaders of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) carried out a ‘funeral procession’ of GCAS portal outside Gujarat University.

NSUI workers alleged that due to technical glitches in the GCAS portal, many students were stuck in the admission process and were denied admission. 

They demanded that the admission process on the GCAS portal be completed immediately and that students who were deprived of admission should be accommodated.

NSUI also accused that despite many vacant seats, students were not being admitted by the university. They alleged that these flawed procedures have benefited private universities.

During this protest, NSUI demanded that the university administration complete the admission process immediately and refrain from jeopardising students’ careers. They also warned that if proper action is not taken, intense protests could follow in the coming days.
