No immediate relief from heat in Gujarat; temperatures likely to hover around 41°C

Gujarat is unlikely to get any significant relief from the prevailing heat over the next few days, with temperatures expected to remain around 41°C until at least June 13, according to the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9°C on Sunday, an increase of one degree from the previous day.
Weather experts said the temperature in Ahmedabad is likely to remain around 41°C until June 19, after which a gradual decline may be witnessed.
The city's minimum temperature was recorded at 30.2°C, about two degrees above normal, while humidity levels rose to 61 per cent.
Elsewhere in the state, Rajkot also recorded a maximum temperature of 41.9°C, followed by Surendranagar at 41.5 degrees, Gandhinagar at 41.3 degrees, Amreli at 40.7 degrees and Deesa at 40.2 degrees.
Bhavnagar recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7°C, Vadodara 39.6 degrees and Surat 35.9 degrees, according to weather data.
The IMD said no major drop in temperatures is expected across the state in the coming days.
