Nikol man forged university degree 2 years before it was established, held while re-entering Australia

In his eagerness to settle abroad, a youth from Nikol has landed in serious trouble after he allegedly used forged educational documents, dated two years before the establishment of a university, to obtain a visa for Australia.
The youth even managed to stay in Australia for nearly one-and-a-half years. However, when he attempted to re-enter the country, immigration officials caught the discrepancy, leading to his deportation.
According to Nikol police, an FIR has been registered against Prakashkumar Patel (40). Patel allegedly forged mark sheets and certificates in the name of Ganpat University, Kherva, showing that he had completed a computer science course in 2003 — despite the university being established only two years later.
Using these forged documents, he secured a visa and entered Australia on March 28, 2024, staying there for around 18 months. When he recently tried to re-enter the country, Australian immigration authorities detected the forgery after verifying the documents with the university.
He was deported to India via Delhi, where police took him into custody and registered a case, later transferring him to Nikol police for further investigation.
