New Year tragedy on Girnar mountain as Ahmedabad devotee dies after falling
In a tragic incident on Girnar mountain in Junagadh on the eve of the New Year, a pilgrim from Ahmedabad lost his life after falling from a great height.
The deceased was identified as Ashishbhai Amulbhai Doshi (45), a resident of Jivraj Society in Ahmedabad and originally from Jessar village in Bhavnagar district. He had come to Girnar on December 31 with devotion in his heart.
While climbing the mountain, Doshi, who was exhausted after 2,500 steps, sat down to rest and eat. However, he lost his balance, slipping to his death deep into the valley.
The onlookers immediately rushed to help. With great effort, they rescued him and brought him down to Girnar Taleti on a dolly. He was then taken to the hospital for treatment. However, he was declared dead on arrival.
Upon receiving the information, Bhavnath police reached the spot and started an investigation. The case has been registered as an accidental death.
