Gujarat, synonymous with its flamboyant festival of Navratri, is set to groove to garba beats. With Navratri round the corner, Gujarat Samachar brings to you some of the latest accessory trends this year.
The garba queens of the city head to Rani No Hajiro, a yellow-lit alley located in the old city, near Manek Chowk, in quest of accessory shopping.
The accessories here would make it into anyone’s Navratri shopping list. From bindis to bangles, rings to earrings, everything here perfectly aligns with that festival spirit of yours that can’t wait to get decked up.
What Jhumkas?
Spot exquisite and dainty pairs of earrings starting from ₹100-₹250. The ‘evergreen’ oxidised jewellery to the latest sensation- ‘brass’ earrings are available at affordable prices here. Also add the quirky and the oh-so-trendy jeco bead earrings to your list.
Meenakari marvels
‘Afghani necklace’ is in vogue among enthusiasts this season. You would also find some attractive pieces, which also have some meenakari work on the oxidised necklace.
Salimbhai, a shopkeeper at Rani no Hajiro said, “Fabric necklaces with jeco beads embedded in them are trending this season.” The necklaces with a pair of matching earrings range from ₹200 to ₹700 apiece.
Twirl in style
This year, dupattas make a grand entry with different styles. No more just Kutchi, bandhani, patchwork or leheriya dupattas, this year ‘Karachi’ or ‘Pakistani’ dupatta is in demand. This dupatta is made out of multi-coloured chiffon fabric with detailed embroidery on it.
This dupatta costs somewhere around ₹600-₹800. While, the other dupattas are available between ₹200 and ₹500.
Accessory extravaganza
Some of the other must-have Navratri accessories include bracelets, tikas, traditional waist belts, traditional gloves, rings, anklets, and much more.
The price of kadas and bracelets ranges from ₹100-₹250.
Tikas and matha patti cost around ₹100-₹300.
Whereas traditional waist belts, or kandoras, range between ₹200 and ₹400.
Rani No Hajiro market timings during Navratri
Make sure you reach here by 6 p.m. as the vendors start winding up the shops a little after 8 p.m.
