In a swift breakthrough, Narol Police solved a brutal murder case within hours of the crime and arrested the accused husband from Mumbai. The incident occurred on the night of May 20 in the Shahwadi area of Narol, Ahmedabad, where a 30-year-old woman was found murdered in her rented accommodation.

The deceased, identified as Rinaben Rajendrabhai Verma, a resident of Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Ghatkopar (East), Mumbai, was found with severe head injuries in a room near Shyamnagar-Jyoti Nagar. A team of Narol Police officers immediately reached the spot to investigate.

Preliminary findings revealed that Rinaben had frequent quarrels with her husband, Anil alias Bobby Ashokbhai Jangam, a catering worker originally from Mumbai. The couple reportedly had ongoing disputes stemming from Anil’s suspicion over his wife’s character.

According to police, Anil had attacked Rinaben with a wooden plank and later fatally assaulted her by smashing her head against a wash basin. After the crime, he remained at the scene with the body for nearly two hours. Shockingly, he is said to have recorded photos and videos of the deceased before fleeing to Mumbai via Kalupur railway station.

A murder case was swiftly registered at Narol Police Station. Leveraging both human intelligence and technical surveillance, police traced Anil to his native location in Ghatkopar. A team was dispatched to Mumbai, where the accused was apprehended immediately.

ACP Yuvrajsinh Gohil (Zone-2, K Division) stated that, “The couple had two children and had been living in Ahmedabad temporarily for work. The incident is believed to have been the culmination of long-standing domestic discord.”
