Junagadh Keshod rape case

Gruesome incidents of subsequent rapes have confuted Gujarat’s claims as a ‘safe haven’ for women.

An incident took place in Junagadh’s Keshod, where a mother was raped by two men promising a nursing job for her two daughters.

Notably, in this case, the victim was introduced to the perpetrators by another woman, Shradha Gohel.

Seeking a job for her daughters at an urban health centre, the victim contacted Gohel, employed at such a centre. Gohel introduced her to Narendra Zala, who was a tutor for nursing courses.

Zala inflicted the horrendous acts upon the victim by calling her at his office, and promising jobs for both her daughters.

Upon informing Gohel, she disparaged this incident and expressed that she has carried forward with her career and overlooked such instances.

Gohel thereafter introduced the victim to Rajnikant Vachani, the other accused in this case.

Vachani employed both her daughters. After which he visited their house and forced himself onto the victim.

After the horrifying incident, the victim was told by Vachani to sexually involve him with her daughter.

Upon her denial, he threatened to sack her daughters, and also kill them.

As the ordeal turned into a life or death situation, the victim approached Keshod police, where she filed a case against Gohel, as well as the two perpetrators.
