An employee duped his company of more than ₹18 lakh of embezzlement in Gandhinagar.

A complaint has been registered at Ellisbridge police station that an employee named Mitesh Vora defrauded the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) and RTO by not paying the tax dues of the customers of the company.

According to a complaint filed by the company’s chief financial officer, after the customers complained about the unpaid municipality tax, Vora presented fake receipts of payment and claimed that the tax had already been paid.

Later, the sales head of the company informed that municipal tax is still due.

On questioning about the unpaid tax by CEO Inderpalsinh Anand and HR head Ami Pandhi, Vora answered vaguely. Moreover, he didn’t show up at the office after the day the seniors interrogated him.

Customer’s money embezzled

When the company further investigated the case, Vora was supposed to pay ₹19,000 for a choice number, ₹3,73,000 for vehicle passing, and ₹3,21,000 for vehicle passing in the RTO. Apparently, he intentionally did not pay the dues.

The company allotted ₹15,75,658 to Vora to pay at the GMC, which he didn’t.

Vora embezzled the company a total of 18,52,458 as he didn’t pay ₹4,93,560 of the customer's car tax and ₹13,58,898 of other tax money from agents, RTO, and GMC.
