Mohan Kundariya elected unopposed in NAFED elections

Ahead of the electrons of one of the apex cooperative societies, Mohan Kundariya has been named the director of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) unopposed after four of his opponents backed out.
The NAFED elections are scheduled for May 21. However, the four opponents contesting against the BJP’s Kundariya withdrew their forms today, on the last day of form withdrawal.
A total of 54 candidates were in the fray for the elections of director at NAFED, with seven candidates from Gujarat, including:
Jetha Bharwad (Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd)
Tejash Patel (Gujarat Coop Tobacco Growers’ Fed Ltd)
Amarat Desai (Kankrej Taluka Sihori Coop Mktg Society Ltd)
Mohan Kundariya (Nichimandal Seva Sahakari Mandli Ltd)
Mahesh (Prantij Taluka Cooperative Purchase & Sale Union Ltd)
Jashvant Patel (Sonipura Somnath Seva Sahakari Mandli Ltd)
Magan Vadaviya (Khakhrala Seva Sahakari Mandli Ltd).
Seven directors will be elected from the districts’ constituencies reserved for cooperative societies. As one seat has been declared uncontested, elections will be held for six seats across the country.
NAFED’s special general body meeting on May 21, 2024, will elect board members, with polling between 8 am and 4 pm at the NCUI Auditorium in New Delhi. Office-bearer elections will follow on May 22, 2024, at 10 am.
