Moderate rain likely in Gujarat today, scorching heat in next 3 days
Amidst the weather changes seen in Gujarat in the past few days, the Indian Meteorological Department has made an important forecast. Due to Western Disturbance and moisture in the Arabian Sea, some areas of Gujarat may receive moderate rainfall today (March 21st). However, after the impact of this storm, the state is expected to experience another round of scorching heat with temperatures predicted to go up by up to 5 degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, some northern districts may get light to moderate rainfall today. These include Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, and Mehsana. Light rain is also likely in Kutch, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu.
Once the rain subsides, it will be back to hot days. Temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees in the next 3 days. Today, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was recorded at 35 degrees, which is likely to reach 38 to 40 degrees in the coming days.
Weather experts explained that the frequent changes are happening because of a strong western disturbance and moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. These factors brought clouds, wind, and rain, which temporarily brought relief from the heat. The summer will be back again soon.
