Mob attack at Godhra Police Station: Police parade the arrested

A mob allegedly attacked and vandalised the B Division police station of Godhra Police on Friday, leading to a complaint against 88 individuals. So far, 21 suspects have been arrested, according to Godhra Police.
Ahead of the Navratri festival, police had summoned a social media influencer to the station, requesting him not to post any controversial content online to help maintain peace.
Earlier, this influencer had reportedly made a video featuring a religious poster, which led to a misunderstanding among some locals who believed he was being called in for that reason. Due to this confusion, a large crowd gathered near the police station. As tensions escalated, the mob allegedly vandalised Police Chowki No 4 and also pelted stones.
Police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the crowd, during which a few officers sustained minor injuries. The attackers allegedly threw chairs and other furniture from the station into a nearby drain.
Following the incident, Panchmahal police launched an overnight operation and arrested 21 suspects. To reassure citizens about security during the Navratri festival, the police on Saturday conducted a public parade of the arrested individuals under heavy security deployment.
