CID crime to probe MLA Gajendrasinh Parmar in POCSO case

The investigation of this case will be handed over to CID (crime). However, the minor’s mother reportedly has alleged that now that the BJP is ruling in Rajasthan, accused MLA Gajendrasinh Parmar can influence the case by putting political pressure on CID crime as well. She requested the court give directions for an impartial investigation.
After the mother of a minor who was allegedly molested by Gajendrasinh Parmar, a Gujarat BJP MLA, attempted suicide at Rajasthan’s Jodhpur court premises on Dec 16, the police registered the crime.
On Dec 19, Rajasthan’s Jodhpur city police booked Parmar and another accused in the case, Mahesh Patel.
Parmar is a member of parliament from Sabarkantha’s Prantij was booked under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) for sexually abusing the woman’s minor daughter.
In Nov 2020, the Ahmedabad-based woman and her daughter, were travelling in a car to Jaisalmer, along with Parmar and two others.
During the journey, the minor was allegedly molested by Parmar and two other people present in the car near Abu.
The woman returned to Ahmedabad the same day of the incident. She had also attempted suicide when Ahmedabad police allegedly did not take any action against the accused back then.
The POCSO application for complaint was later accepted by the Sirohi Court, and a stay order was also accepted for Parmar’s arrest.
The woman has claimed that the case was getting weaker due to the political pressure from Parmar.
Feeling distressed over the court’s repeated delay, she attempted suicide by consuming poison on the court premises. However, she survived after she was rushed to a government hospital in Jodhpur on time.
