Minor driving car hits a man in Ahmedabad’s society, victim injured

A serious road accident was reported in Shivalik Society on Science City Road after a speeding car allegedly driven by a minor struck a young pedestrian, leaving him critically injured. The incident occurred on January 28 and was captured on nearby CCTV cameras.
The victim, identified as Vikram Rabari, had arrived at his sister’s residence and was walking inside the society after alighting from an autorickshaw when a red car approaching from behind hit him at high speed. The impact was severe, throwing the person several feet into the air. He is currently undergoing treatment for serious injuries at a private hospital in Gandhinagar.
According to local residents, the car was allegedly being driven by a 15-year-old minor, the son of a society resident employed at the Gujarat High Court. Witnesses said the vehicle was travelling at a dangerously high speed, causing both airbags to deploy upon impact.
The injured youth has alleged that the minor frequently drives recklessly within the society and repeatedly violates traffic rules. CCTV footage of the incident has emerged and is being examined by the police as part of the investigation.
As per reports, A Division Traffic Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Confirming the probe, Police Inspector N A Desai said an investigation has been initiated based on the victim’s complaint.
“If it is established that the vehicle was being driven by a minor, his statement will be recorded and strict legal action will be taken against the registered owner of the car,” Desai said.
