The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the CID Crime and Railways, Gujarat, has seized a significant quantity of narcotic substances, including methamphetamine, cocaine and hybrid marijuana, during a raid at a residential flat in Bopal, Ahmedabad, officials said on Thursday.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team of the ANTF, Ahmedabad Zone, conducted a raid at Flat No. B/1203 at Aarohi Viviana Apartments in Bopal on April 16.

During the search, officials recovered 102.59 grams of methamphetamine (commonly known as MD), 46.64 grams of hybrid marijuana and 8.88 grams of cocaine from the premises. In addition, six bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor and 24 beer tins were seized, along with four mobile phones.

The total value of the seized contraband and other items has been estimated at approximately ₹18.01 lakh, police said.

The accused, identified as Nishant Bhanubhai Solanki (42), a resident of the same apartment complex and originally from Rajkot, was arrested on the spot. Officials said he was allegedly in possession of the narcotic substances at the time of the raid.

Police have also named four other individuals in the case, identified as Ricky, Sanda, Dhost and Ajay Patel who are currently absconding and are suspected to be linked to the illegal trade. Authorities said efforts are under way to trace and apprehend them.

A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 and as well as under sections of the Prohibition Act.

“The operation was carried out based on credible inputs, and the accused was found in possession of multiple narcotic substances intended for distribution,” an official said.

Further investigation in the case has been handed over to Bopal Police Station in Ahmedabad Rural, which will probe the source of the drugs and possible links to a wider network.
