‘The Metamorphosis’ is a powerful and visually striking Experimental Dance Theatre production inspired by the natural process of transformation and Franz Kafka’s iconic novella. Blending contemporary dance, physical theatre, poetry, and puppetry, it offers a deeply emotional journey into the psyche of a protagonist struggling under the weight of societal expectations and personal turmoil.

The performance explores themes of mental illness, identity, and human fragility, portraying a symbolic metamorphosis that mirrors the transformation of a butterfly. As a prequel to Kafka’s story, it highlights the silent battles that precede the infamous change, emphasising how society’s impatience and lack of empathy can cut short someone’s journey of growth and healing. Ultimately, it’s a poetic and raw reflection of the beauty and pain of becoming.
