Massive fire breaks out in locked apartment near Jivraj Park, no casualties reported

A massive fire broke out in a locked apartment at Sahjanand Tower near Ahmedabad’s Jivraj Park Crossroads on Friday, amid rising incidents of fire accidents during the intense summer heat in the city. The blaze created panic in the residential complex and nearby area. All household belongings kept inside the apartment were completely gutted, though fortunately no casualties were reported.
According to information received, thick smoke was seen billowing out of a locked apartment in Sahjanand Tower, located near the busy Jivraj Park Crossroads area. Within minutes, the fire intensified and spread across the entire house. The flames were so severe that valuable household items, electronic appliances and all furniture inside the apartment were completely destroyed. Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
After local residents alerted the fire department, multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue and firefighting operations. Following strenuous efforts and continuous water spraying, the fire brigade managed to bring the blaze under complete control. Due to the timely action of the fire team, the fire was prevented from spreading to other apartments and the entire building, averting a major tragedy.
Despite the massive fire, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
