Massive fire breaks out in ​​Gujarat’s Jhagadia GIDC after explosion

A major accident took place in the industrial area of Jhagadia GIDC in Bharuch district on Thursday when a massive explosion rocked Metropolitan Excichem Company. The sounds from the blast was heard from kilometres away, and in no time the entire company was engulfed in flames.

As per reports, more than 10 workers working at the plant suffered serious burns. The injured were shifted to Jayaben Modi Hospital in Ankleshwar via ambulance, where they are undergoing treatment. This blast has caused significant  damage to the plant.

As soon as the incident was reported, a team of firefighters from ​​Jhagadia and surrounding areas reached the spot. Due to the presence of a chemical unit, the fire was spreading rapidly, which was brought under control by the fire brigade.
