Mass food poisoning reported in Gandhinagar after eating food at wedding

Over 100 people suffered from food poisoning in Gandhinagar after having a meal at a wedding in Sector-24, reported local media. The affected guests were shifted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital and the health centre in Sector-24, stated the media reports.

It further stated that the guests, who attended a marriage function at Rangmanch in Sector-24, were suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting, having eaten at the event. Authorities also jumped into action as soon as the cases of mass food poisoning were reported.

According to Dr Niyati, medical superintendent at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, "Most of the patients out of 42 that arrived at the hospital were released after OPD, and only five were admitted into the hospital.

“Five people are currently admitted to the hospital, and all of them are stable. No patient is in a critical condition,” said the doctor.

The patients started coming to the hospital at 2 a.m. in the morning according to the doctor.
