Manchurian order sparks late-night brawl, fast-food owner stabbed in Ahmedabad

A 32-year-old fast-food shop owner was allegedly stabbed and assaulted by four men in Ahmedabad’s Amraiwadi area following a late-night argument over a food order, police said. The victim sustained injuries to his hand and was admitted to the trauma ward of Civil Hospital before lodging a complaint.

According to Khokhara police, the incident took place in the early hours of May 30 at a fast-food outlet operated by Dharmesh Yogeshsingh Rajput near Swaminarayan Colony in the CTM-Ramol area.

Rajput, who runs Pashupatinath Fast Food, told police that he and his employee, Anil Sharma, had remained at the shop after closing hours to complete cleaning work. Around 2.30 am, after dropping his wife home and returning to the shop, he allegedly found four men arriving on two two-wheelers and demanding food.

Police said one of the accused, identified as Varun alias Valiyo Nadia of Amraiwadi, allegedly asked the employee to prepare a plate of Manchurian, while another accused, Manav Nadia, demanded noodles. When the employee informed them that the shop was closed and being cleaned, an argument reportedly broke out.

The complainant alleged that as he attempted to pacify the situation, Varun and Manav became aggressive and began assaulting him. Two other men accompanying them identified as Krishna alias Kurkurio Nadia and Baldev alias Bobby Vania, allegedly joined the attack and assaulted him with fists and kicks.

The violence escalated when Baldev allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Rajput on the palm of his left hand and thumb, causing bleeding injuries.

Hearing his cries for help, Rajput’s friend Prabhakar Pandey and local residents rushed to the spot, following which the accused allegedly fled.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the injured man was initially taken to LG Hospital. Doctors there referred him to Civil Hospital for specialised treatment, where he was admitted to the trauma ward. After receiving treatment and being discharged, Rajput approached the police and lodged a formal complaint.

Khokhara Police have registered a case against all four accused and launched an investigation. Officers said statements of witnesses, including the complainant’s employee and other persons present in the vicinity, are being recorded as part of the probe.
