Man stabbed to death outside Asarwa Civil Hospital three booked
Victim Suresh Bhil

A 26-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death in the parking area near Gate No 2 of Asarwa Civil Hospital late on Wednesday night, following a heated argument. The deceased, identified as Suresh alias Kancha Manubhai Bhil, suffered multiple stab wounds after being attacked by three men armed with dagger-like weapons.

According to the FIR lodged at Shahibaug Police Station by the victim’s younger brother, Rahul Manubhai Bhil (24), the incident took place around 9 pm on October 8. Rahul, who works at a tea stall near the hospital’s Gate No 3, stated that he heard a commotion near Gate No 2 and rushed to the spot, where he saw his brother engaged in an argument with three men — Bhavesh alias Raymal Mahendrabhai Bhil, Mehul Anilbhai Bhil, and Karan Anilbhai Bhil, all residents of Ranchhodpura in Shahibaug.

“Suddenly, all three took out dagger-like weapons and started stabbing my brother repeatedly. My brother screamed for help and collapsed as the attackers fled,” the complaint stated.

Rahul immediately rushed Suresh to the Trauma Centre at Civil Hospital, where doctors noted several deep wounds — one on the left side of the chest, two on the left thigh, one on each leg, a large abrasion on the abdomen, and cuts on the left hand. Despite emergency treatment, doctors declared him dead around 1.30 am on October 9.

Before succumbing to his injuries, Suresh reportedly told his brother that the altercation began when Bhavesh confronted him, asking why he had come to their chali (chawl). The verbal exchange soon turned violent, with the trio following Suresh to the hospital compound and attacking him.

A security guard, Jagdish Sharma, who witnessed the incident, alerted the police control room. The Shahibaug police soon arrived at the spot and began an investigation.

Police have booked the three accused under relevant sections of the BNS for murder and criminal conspiracy, and have launched a search to arrest them.

“As per the preliminary investigation of the police, it was revealed that the victim was a repeat offender and was involved in several cases in the past. He was a nuisance to the locality,” said senior police officials familiar with the case.
