Man stabbed to death in Bopal over dinner dispute, cousin held

A man was allegedly stabbed to death following a sudden quarrel over dinner in the Bopal Police Station area of Ahmedabad on Thursday evening, police said.
The incident came to light when Bopal police received information about a violent altercation, following which a team rushed to the spot. The victim was identified as Ramu Kushwaha, a native of Morena district in Madhya Pradesh. The accused, Vishnu Kushwaha, also a resident of Morena, is the victim’s maternal cousin. Both men were working as daily-wage labourers engaged in paintwork.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred during an argument that broke out while the two were having dinner. In the heat of the moment, Vishnu allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and attacked Ramu. The victim suffered serious stab injuries and began bleeding profusely, leading to his death before he could receive medical help, police said.
A case has been registered at Bopal Police Station under section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused has been taken into custody, and further legal procedures are underway.
Police officials said a detailed investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact sequence of events and circumstances leading to the fatal assault.
